Minutes for April 1, 2015
Meeting was opened by Nikki Lewandowski, Coach at Southmoreland Middle School Library, at 6:01 pm.
MIDDLE SCHOOL COACH
Jen Tarasky has resigned. The new coach will be announced soon. Coach Lewandowski and Coach Neiderhiser will be your contact for right now until a coach is named.
DERMERIT SYSTEM
A copy of the demerit system was handed out at tryouts. The system will be followed! Demerits will be kept track of on a file kept by the coaches. Girls will sign off on any demerits given.
CAMP (MANTDATORY)
June 22, 23 and 24. As of right now the time will be 8-2. May change time depending on the coaches coming in. Camp $ is due by May 22. Nikki has your balances as to what you may still owe. Middle School may not do camp. May have varsity girls come in and teach them to keep the cost down for middle school and get to have more one on one teaching. Middle School parents need to think this over and get back to Nikki with thoughts by next Friday. If this is decided on, Varsity will hold these practices June 25 and 26.
PRE-SEASON (MANDATORY)
August 10-13.
UNIFORMS
If you have a warm up from last year you do not need to order one. Warm ups are $87.00. Shoes will be at a discounted price of $50.00 if we order by the end of April. Shoes will be bought every year. Shoe money is due by April 29 and can be turned in at next meeting. If we purchase these shoes, the company will give us camp wear with t-shirts and Sofie shorts at a discounted price as well.
STUNT CLINIC
Coach Lewandowski is looking into putting a stunt clinic together
BUDGET FOR YEAR
Fundraising will go towards:
1. Varsity needs new uniforms. District is purchasing new pom poms. Looking into getting a flag made for the Scottie Dog to hold.
2. Banquet – At the end of the year and will provide food and gifts for each cheerleader.
3. Judges for tryouts – UCA trainer to come in and teach material to the girls for try outs. No video or recording will be allowed. 3 judges to come into judge the Saturday after practices. * Any Jr. cheerleader that makes the squad will be put on the squad their Sr. year.
FUNDRAISER
Will be getting a ticket together to handout. If you cannot sell tickets, please let us know before they go off. Candle orders should be in tomorrow. Will get orders to us tomorrow or over the weekend. Plan on signing up for the lemonade stand during the Fall Festival.
Cash bash is mandatory! Looking into June 20. Every parent needs to help out with this fundraiser. If we do a big fundraiser, we could be done for the year. We need to get a $100 license (good for a year). Scottie Dogs and Cones will donate the tickets. Every girl is responsible for one item for the Chinese auction. This motion was given by Amy Rollinson and 2nd by Jen Schwartz.
ISSUES WITH ANYTHING
Please bring to the coach’s attention first. They can’t solve a problem if they are not aware. Coaches will be respectful to you, please be respectful to them. If the issue is not handled by the coaches, then the building principal can be contacted, then the Athletic Director.
SOCIAL MEDIA
Be careful what you post. No negative comments against teachers, coaches and/or students. There will be consequences.
PHYSICAL FORMS
Girls need to get a form and have their physicals done in order to be able to practice and cheer.
OFFICER ELECTIONS
Motion to forego elections and keep the current officers was given by Amy Rollinson and 2nd by Marsh Hough. The vote was 15 Ya and 0 Na.

GAME DAY RULES
No Nail Polish – Only white French Tips will be allowed. No Earrings. Tape belly button rings. No tattoos that show. Girls need to eat before practice. No leaving games early or it will count as if you were not there at all. Stunting – will be the coach’s decision. Girls need to be safe and feel comfortable.
MISCELLANEOUS
Parents only at the meetings. Middle School cheerleaders will join Varsity for the Pink Game. Nate Lockhart will be our Scottie Dog Mascot. Pictures will be scheduled for the summer. Coaches need your vacation dates: girls are allowed one week for vacation.
NEXT MEETING WILL BE HELD ON APRIL 29 AT SMS @ 7:00 PM.
With no further business, a motion to adjourn the meeting was given by Amy Rollinson and 2nd by Gretchen. Meeting was adjourned at 7:29 p.m.
